Orbit Hopper

Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 22, 2026

Overview

Orbit Hopper is a free mobile arcade game developed by Catalin Lazar. Your privacy matters, and this policy explains what data is collected, how it's used, and your choices.

Orbit Hopper does not require an account and does not collect personal information directly. Game progress is backed up anonymously to the cloud so it can be restored if you reinstall the app.

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device:

  • High scores, best times, and game statistics
  • Unlocked rockets and companions
  • Sound, music, and haptic preferences

Settings (sound, music, haptics) are stored on your device only and are cleared if you uninstall the app.

Cloud Backup

To protect your progress, Orbit Hopper backs up game data to the cloud using Firebase. This allows your scores, statistics, and unlocks to be restored if you reinstall the app on the same device.

Here's how cloud backup works:

  • An anonymous account is created automatically — no email, username, or personal information is required.
  • Game progress is uploaded only when you achieve a new personal record (high score, best time, or furthest planet reached).
  • Backed-up data includes scores, statistics, achievement progress, and unlocked items. It does not include settings or ad-related data.

Cloud data is stored in Firebase Firestore (EU region) and is associated only with an anonymous identifier — not with your name, email, or any other personal information.

Third-Party Services

Orbit Hopper uses the following third-party services that may collect data independently:

Google AdMob (Advertising)

AdMob serves ads and may collect device identifiers, ad interaction data, and approximate location to deliver relevant ads. Rewarded ads are always optional.

Firebase Analytics

Firebase Analytics collects anonymous usage data such as session duration, screen views, and device information to help improve the game. No personally identifiable information is collected.

Children's Privacy

Orbit Hopper is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. AdMob is configured to comply with applicable regulations.

Your Choices

  • Ad tracking: You can limit ad personalization through your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy > Tracking; Android: Settings > Google > Ads).
  • Reset all data: You can erase all progress (local and cloud) from within the app. Go to Menu > Reset All Progress. This permanently deletes your scores, statistics, unlocks, and cloud backup.
  • Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. Your cloud backup will remain so progress can be restored on reinstall.
